WHEN WE ARE GONE

A set of still-life photographs, inspired by our relationship between plastic and nature. It is a series that portrays the elegance and beauty of nature in contrast to the rigid design and engineering of the waste produced in our era. This composition of opposing elements has a compelling relationship, in that both are survivors in dissimilar ways, both will remain beyond the age of our kind. No matter how we recycle, repurpose, or reclaim plastic, there will always be remains left for nature to cope with. Maybe one day, perhaps sooner than we might anticipate, the human species will no longer inhabit earth whereas plant-life, marine life and other living organisms will persevere. One way or another, nature will prevail and overshadow the leftovers of our time here.
